S.A.A.A.D. Peoples Ag Project doesnโ€™t know much about cookies nor really cares too much about utilizing them besides to track traffic to the site, but you should most definitely care about who harvests your data, what they do with it and why. Iโ€™m copying and pasting the below stuff off our web hostโ€™s [Squarespace] privacy/disclosure/cookie policy since they program all that jazz and S.A.A.A.D. doesnโ€™t interfere unless we learn these cookies are being used/sold in unsavory ways by third, fourth, fifth parties, etcโ€ฆ. then weโ€™ll put the kibosh on that.

If you really donโ€™t trust this stuff then email us and we can send you PDF copies of the siteโ€™s pages or figure out how to turn whatever cookies off that are stressing you out:

What are cookies?

Cookies are small files that contain information about browsing activity.

Whenever you visit a website, the website sends a cookie to the device you're using to access the website. Your device automatically stores the cookie in a file that's located within your web browser.

When you revisit a site, the website will respond in a more personalized way, remembering your preferences, providing faster page load times and so forth.

How are cookies used?

Cookies have many uses.

Membership websites and social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter use cookies to remember login credentials (username and password) so you don't have to enter them manually every time you access the website.

We donโ€™t have that problem here. We personally just want to see how many people visited the site and if itโ€™s trending up or down, blah, blah, blah..

PRIMARILY (and we donโ€™t do this but Squarespace or the third, fourth, fifth,,, party applications they give access to mayโ€ฆ) cookies are used to target advertising at you. Cookies can display custom advertisements based on your previous search history and web browsing behavior. If you've been browsing the Internet searching for used S&M apparatuses, then you'll probably see ads for used S&M apparatuses on sites that implement custom banner advertisements. I think this is information advertisers pay for so it is yet another instance where, unbeknownst to you, someone is making money off of you.

You can manage browser cookies through your browser settings. The 'Help' feature on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, how to block cookies, and when cookies will expire. If you block all cookies on your browser, neither we nor third parties will transfer cookies to your browser. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some features and services may not work. [thanks, Amazon]
